Heat Recovery and Ventilation System

Heat recovery is a balanced whole house ventilation system that both supplies and extracts air and recovers up to 90% of heat that would have otherwise been lost through the ventilation process. The system provides fresh clean filtered air to the home.

Why install HRV?

In modern, well insulated houses where energy consumption, noise pollution, air tightness and efficiency are paramout.

Air quality can be a significant problem due to a tendency to keep windows closed and a lack of external wall vents to provide natural ventilation.

This can give rise to high humidity, mould and build-up of harmful gasses, leading to an unhealthy
situation for the occupants. This is especially important for Adults or Children with Asthma or other respiratory conditions.
A HRV system eliminates these problems whilst allowing you to keep your house sealed thereby giving you comfort and efficiency.

How does it work?

Stale air with high humidity is extracted from the wet rooms and released, through a heat exchanger, to the outside of the building.
Fresh outside air is filtered and warmed by passing through the heat exchanger and supplied to the living areas.
The main constituents of the system are a network of supply and extract ducts carried in the ceiling space and attic, a supply and/or extract duct in the ceiling of the designated rooms and the main heat exchange unit with feeds to the outside of the building.

What are the benefits of HRV?

Health - Adults or Children with Asthma or other respiratory conditions will benifit from the fresh air.

No mould growth in bedrooms, bathrooms etc. due to lower humidity.
-
Less noise from outside due to lack of external wall vents.

-
Increased security.
-
Increased energy efficiency of house. Ideal partner your your heat pump.

Waking up refreshed!

Is it easy to install a HRV system?
